On Saturday 6 October 2007 the streets of Sydney will be awash in a sea of pink as the Dove Pink Star Walk returns for another year. Come and join the fun as thousands of people stroll the streets of Sydney dressed up in pink bras, t-shirts, hats, accessories and anything else they can find.
This fun 5km stroll through the CBD is in aid of the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF), with proceeds helping to fund research for the prevention and cure of breast cancer. It is also a tribute of the 2,500 women that die of breast cancer each year in Australia.
The Dove Pink Star Walk will kick off at 8pm in the Royal Botanic Gardens, and will follow a beautiful scenic route, under the stars, past the Opera House and Circular Quay, finishing up in the beautiful Tumbalong Park, Darling Harbour.
Open to women, men, children - the whole family except the pet dog!, everyone is welcome to participate. For those who can't make it, they can sponsor a participant walking in the event, or make a donation here.
Get into the breast cancer theme by wearing something pink on the night, such as a a pink decorated bra, t-shirt or hat. There will be prizes awarded on the night for the best costumes and for those adopting the pink spirit the most, plus entertainment throughout the evening to cheer everyone on until the last person crosses the finish line!
